Congratulations to the Design for Health team for winning the 2026 Dartmouth Healthcare Delivery Challenge. The IDEA Lab team was recognized for their project, Lift Forward, an innovative solution designed to support individuals with sit-to-stand transfers at home. The project focuses on improving mobility and independence through practical, user-centered design.

Xan Abess, MD (IDEA Lab’s Founder/Director) and Yvon Bryan, MD (IDEA Lab Faculty) served as expert panelists during the “Medical Innovation Panel” hosted by Geisel’s Design for Health Club. The panel discussion highlighted their experiences working at the intersection of entrepreneurship, innovation and medicine.
