Spring ’26: IDEA Lab Team Wins 2026 Dartmouth Healthcare Delivery Challenge – Lift Forward

Congratulations to the Design for Health team for winning the 2026 Dartmouth Healthcare Delivery Challenge.

The IDEA Lab team was recognized for their project, Lift Forward, an innovative solution designed to support individuals with sit-to-stand transfers at home. The project focuses on improving mobility and independence through practical, user-centered design.

As part of the award, the team will receive $70,000 in funding to support a 12-month development plan. Under the guidance of faculty advisor Dr. Xan Abess, the team will advance Lift Forward from concept to a functional prototype suitable for testing.

The Dartmouth Healthcare Delivery Challenge is a collaborative initiative between Magnuson Center for Entrepreneurship and Dartmouth Health, bringing together interdisciplinary teams to develop impactful healthcare solutions.

This achievement highlights the strength of cross-disciplinary collaboration and IDEA Lab’s commitment to developing real-world innovations in healthcare.
